Lajcak for Kurt: I believe it will not put Kosovo at risk of isolation

The European Union's Emisari for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has been asked about Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his positions in the Kosovo dialogue Serbia, saying he believes Kurti will not put Kosovo at risk of isolation.

This statement came after being questioned by Italian media “La Stampa” whether there is anyone who can contain Kurt if the United States and the EU fail.

The United States of America is exactly on the line with us. He knows what lies ahead. I know that it is extremely important for Kosovo to have strong international support, because that is exactly what Kosovo has enjoyed from the beginning. I have no doubt that (the Kurt) will be responsible enough not to put his country in danger of isolation. So he's drawing the right conclusions”, Lajcak said.

Lajcak also commented on his strategy for Kosovo dialogue, Serbia.

Before all, Kosovo and Serbia must normalise reports. The European Union facilitates the process. It is very important to start before European elections, because later the European Union will enter a period of transition. Then the United States of America will go to elections. This will not be the moment to make decisions”
