Austrian analyst Gerald Knaus has expressed his support for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
“Keeping Kosovo outside the Council of Europe will not promote human rights protection”, it has written on the X platform, adding that Kosovo's membership in the KiE would promote such a thing.
Knaus made that reaction by distributing the post of Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman in the German Bundestag Michael Roth, who had criticised the US for setting additional criteria for Kosovo.
It is completely incomprehensible that the US sets extra conditions for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe. This unbalanized approach by the US towards Kosovo should eventually be completed. It's fair and it's unfair. The Council of Europe and member states sat in the driver's seat, not the US”, Roth wrote.
