The Kosovo Democratic Institute has declared that the Parliamentary Investigative Commission for State Reserves has faced difficulties in functioning.

In the KDI announcement, MPs from the parliamentary majority reportedly, on the pretext of “the suspension of international agreements” by opposition subjects, for more than two months, boycotted the founding gathering, making it impossible for the commission to start work.

The approach of opposition MPs dominated by politicisation has also affected the quality of this Commission's investigative work. Despite the fact that the Commission has held 10 meetings, its work in no period has coincided with the goals of realising an objective fact-based investigation, as it was completely dominated by party tendencies and mutual accusations. The conversation within the commission was burdened with non-parliamentary political qualities among MPs and rarely in the spirit of the subject for which this commission was formed, that is, investigating corruption allegations with state reserves”.

Today, when the parliamentary investigative Commission completes the mandate, it has not yet managed to build a real work plan, so it has failed to begin investigations, which in the Law for Parliamentary Investment is estimated to be the initial phase of investigative work. Moreover, now when this case is being investigated by the Special Prosecutor, not seriousness, policymaking and professionally lack of this commission can affect the investigative process itself, the statement said.
