The “Pertusis, also known as the Good Cola, is a bacterial infectious disease that involves the abandonment of breathing. It is caused by the bacteria Bordetella pertusis found in the mouth, nose, and throat of the infected person. This infectious disease may appear at any age, but more often it affects children and teenagers. The most endangered are children under the age of 1. The disease is easily spread from person to person, mainly through points/screws from the cough or sneezing of the infected person. Symptoms usually appear 7 to 10 days after infection, but can be shown up until 21 days later”, the IKPK report said.
According to the IKSC report, the most frequent complications are bacterial secondary pneumonia, neurological complications, middle ear infection, dehydration, convulsions, etc.
I also read Kosovo priss wishes you happy and prosperous year, Happy 2024! “Care is especially important for babies, while best protection is prevention through child vaccination. In Kosovo, the vaccine against Pertusis is conducted according to the regular vaccination calendar, where vaccine against Pertusis is granted at 2, 4 and 6 months old, while re-evasing at 18 months' age”, the report says.
The World Health Organization (OBSH) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported increasing the number of Pertusis cases in many European countries during the second part of 2023 and during 2024, according to the IKSC.
