The American Embassy, which has repeatedly called on American citizens to leave Russia immediately, provided no further details regarding the nature of the threat, but said people should avoid crowds.
“Ambada is monitoring reports that extremists have close plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, including concerts and American citizens are advised to avoid large gatherings during the next 48 hours”, the Embassy's message published on its website told them.
The war Russia launched in Ukraine in 2022 has sparked the deepest crisis in reports between Moscow and the West since the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, and Russian President Vlaidmir Putin has warned that the West risks provoking a nuclear war if it sends troops to fight in Ukraine.
Kremlin has said reports with the United States have never been worse, and has said the US is fighting against Russia by supporting Ukraine with money, weapons and intelligence. rel
