Leaving the roads that have been marked with Cyrillic has prompted numerous reactions. The international community has demanded that the Government of Kosovo consult with the Commissioner for Languages, which operates within the framework of the Prime Minister's Office.
In an answer to KoSSev, the Commissioner for Languages Slavisa Mladenovic himself has spoken in this regard. He has said that replacing the signs should take place in the spirit of multi-ethnicity and the composition of the population in northern Kosovo. Report Express.
Mladenovic has said that the number of people in the area where signposts are put, determines which language is written first. According to him, in the north, they must first be written in Serbian and then in Albanian.
He says that by the way they are located in the north of the country, it is a violation of the Constitution of Kosovo, since in the new signs, it is originally written in Albanian, then in Serbian.
This action violates Article 59 of the Constitution, point 9”, Mladenovic has said of KoSSev.
