The CEC today voted the recommendation that on April 21st be voted for or against the departure of four Albanian mayors to municipalities in northern Kosovo.
This recommendation came from the CEC Secretariat after verifying the submitted signings of the petition by the Leposaviqi, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and North Mitrovica municipalities.
I welcome the CEC's decision to appoint voting for the removal of mayors, which would pave the way for further escalation. All participants in the process should have equal treatment and respect democratic procedures to have free and fair elections in the north”, Von Cromon wrote on the social X network.
The Central Election Commission today voted the recommendation that on April 21st be voted for or against the departure of four Albanian mayors in municipalities in northern Kosovo.
This recommendation came from the CEC Secretariat after verifying the submitted signings of the petition by the Leposaviqi, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and North Mitrovica municipalities.
According to the Secretariat, 20 percent of the signatures required by the total number of voters have been reached in these four municipalities in order to vote for the removal of municipal leaders.
Under the administrative directive allowing the removal of mayors, approved last September, for this vote to be successful, it takes 50 percent, plus a vote of citizens with the right vote.
After that, the result is sent to Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who has a legal deadline of 30 to 45 days to announce holding early elections.
“The CEC has completely lost credibility”, Valdete Daka: Today's decision is unconstitutional
