Today is the deadline when Kosovo and Serbia should submit their proposals about a solution to the use of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo.

Discussions about the Serbian dinar, which took place Tuesday 19 March in Brussels, did not end with any solution. But Kosovo and Serbia agreed that by Friday they would submit their proposals to the European Union.

Otherwise, in Brussels, the joint meeting between the European Union's emissary for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue was held on 19 March, Miroslav Lajcak, Kosovo's chief negotiator in dialogue, Besnik Bislimi and Serbian chief negotiator Petar Petkovq.

The topic of discussion at this meeting was the regulation of Kosovo's Central Bank over the Serbian dinar.

Talks between Kosovo and Serbia's top negotiators ended with the pledges of the parties that, until 22 March, hand over their proposals for resolving the issue of using the Serbian dinar in Kosovo.

Kosovo's chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, after the meeting, said they agreed that by Friday (22 March v.j). Each party will bring its own proposal on how to see the short-term solution and how to start the long-term solution of the dinar. The next “We're meeting again to discuss whether we can find space for these two proposals to become a” proposal, Bislimi said.

The EU's special minister for Kosovo dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, after the end of the meeting in Brussels between Kosovo's chief negotiators Besnik Bislimi and Serbia's Petar Petkovic, has announced that the meeting will continue on Monday, arguing that the agreement will have to be addressed by leaders.

Lajcak cited agreements on normalising relations between the two countries and the issue of the BEC's cash regulation.
