He has written on Facebook that today an event of historic importance is commemorated for Kosovo and all Albanians.
The US-led NATO intervention “gave justice to the high cause of the people of Kosovo and efforts for freedom and independence. Political wisdom, strategic foresight and the Alliance's determination not to remain indifferent to ethnic cleansing and violence not only saved Kosovo but created a new security framework for the entire region”, Begaj wrote.
He has further said that thanks to this intervention, within a short time independence and the creation of the Republic of Kosovo -- a success story of democratic statehood.
NATO's presence in Kosovo through KFOR troops continues to play an important role today in the security of peace and stability in our” region, he writes.
According to him, the historical act NATO reminds us that we should not stop our efforts to create a region that radiates harmony, co-operation and prosperity.
