The Kosovo Government's order to register the Decani Monastery 24 hectares of land around it is only the first part of this monastery's plan, which aims far larger.

Albanian Post has understood from sources within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports that the goal already under way of the monastery is the adoption of the site called “Tower of Celia”, which is in full 2 miles of 100 meters from the Decani Monastery and practically includes about 70 percent of the section that is designated as the Special Defence Zone under the Law with the same name.

To get a clearer idea of what space this is, the 24 hectares made with the government's decision following the judicial process are extremely small parts.

If you look at the map presented, the 24 hectares of land are at the end of the yellow - colored area, behind the monastery's name, and from the monastery to the section called “The Tower of the Cerelia” is the other area claiming the monastery.

The entire specially protected area has a space of 839.6 acres.

According to information received by the Albanian Post from within the Ministry of Culture, the “Tower of Celia” has been found several ruins that, according to experts and archaeologists, is likely to determine precisely that the building is built in the middle of the 4-6 centuries, but the monastery is claiming to be its own, although it itself was built in the 14th century between 1321-1330th in the time of Stefan Decanski's rule.

Albanian Post also learns that Monastery clergymen have found support for their international claims.

“U n The NMIC and a foreign embassy have already provided donations to the monastery to start repairing in that section”, the Albanian Post's source within the ministry has said.

The monastery's claims have been embraced, according to the source, because the ruins of the old object have been found inside the protected area and with the Law for these areas it is “that ensure the protection of Serbian Orthodox Manuals, Churches, other religious sites, as well as historical and cultural sites of a particular importance for the Serb Community, as well as for other communities in the Republic of Kosovo”.

Object Gerds in the Cell Tower

Kosovo has also received other international obligations in this direction, besides the law, when it has accepted the agreement reached in Brussels between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucic.

Article 7 of the agreement, often referred to as Bazic, in addition to specifying that: “Palas will formalise the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and offer strong level of protection for Serbian religious and cultural heritage objects, in line with existing European models”.

With that, Kosovo has agreed to discuss the Brussels dialogue about the status the Serbian Orthodox Church must have in Kosovo.

In the future, it will become clearer what is meant by the phrase “in accordance with existing European models”, because there are some sosh, from those with milder autonomy within protected areas to those like the Vatican, or the Holy See that practically constitutes a particular state.

According to many, one of the reasons the mediators in the dialogue have insisted on the introduction of the article discussing the status of the Serbian church in Kosovo has come precisely from Kosovo's refusal to implement the Kosovo Constitutional Court's decision, which stated that according to the Decani Monastery judicial process, there is a right to its claims of legal violations during the process, will therefore remain the owner of its surrounding lands.

The Kosovo government has not yet publicly spoken about these recent claims by the Decani Monastery to investigate even the remains of the object at “Cell Tower”.
