Kurt's meeting with German minister: The prime minister took advantage of the opportunity to talk about the results of his government

Republika Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti welcomed German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, who is standing in Kosovo on an official visit along with a delegation consisting of German Bundestag deputy.

Welcoming them in his first visit to Kosovo, “Prime Minister Kurti, at the very beginning of the time, expressed his thanks to the people, the state of Kosovo for Germany's historic and irreplaceable role in nearly the past 25 years, from liberation, to independence, to statehood, and continued assistance in European and Euro-Atlantic integration. He singled out the role of German soldiers and officers in Kosovo under KFOR who enjoy popularity among the citizens who are grateful for their” service, Kurti's office reports.

Furthermore, the prime minister expressed his appreciation for the role Germany has played in strengthening European unity in the face of Russia after its aggression in Ukraine.

German Defence Minister Pistorius thanked Prime Minister Kurti for his warm hospitality during his first visit. He expressed happiness that German soldiers enjoy respect and popularity among citizens. It stressed that Germany, along with its NATO partners, has played an important role in Kosovo in recent decades, and that it is interested in continuing to make its contribution to the stability of the region, integrity, sovereignty and security of Kosovo”.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Kurti announced Minister Pistorius with “the results of governance, the prioritisation of security and defence in the 2024 budget, and the latest developments in the country. Together they talked about strengthening bilateral relations and deepening co-operation in the field of defence”.

The meeting between Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Pistorius also coincided with another meeting of extended delegations, attended by deputies of the German Bundestag and the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, from parliamentary commissions for security and defence issues.

After these meetings, Minister Pistorius was also hosted by Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia, with which they held a bilate meeting.
