“After positive assessment by the U rating body NCO, during the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Preservation of the Non-material Cultural Heritage, in Asuncion, Paraguay, the Kicctation of Tropoja is already part of the Humanist Cultural Heritage List”, Gondja said.
He has praised U's decision NESTO as the next step towards “the elevated national values by making us proud of our country”.
This is a festive dance practiced throughout the year, and especially during traditional festive ceremonies such as weddings, engagements, birthdays, initials, village parties and other social occasions, including those that are less formal, and often very spontaneous.
The dance has rhythmic movement and is accompanied by tupan, biscal, and flutes, while dancers wear traditional clothing and red or yellow headscarves.
Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, says that with this decision “lind a legacy that was being abandoned and forgotten”.
The file for “Kepoje selection” surrendered to U NESTO three years ago along with Transhumanica” and “Gibblet”, which were also taken under U. NESTO.
“Kocim of Tropoja” was announced earlier by the Ministry of Culture and the Academy of Sciences in Albania, as part of the list of the masterpieces of the Nematial Cultural Heritage.
Albanian Jubleta, four thousand-year-old dress, has been taken under protection from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization two years ago. This decision will help to preserve the skill of its creation throughout generations.
While, the tradition of livestock migration or Transhumance was taken under U. NESTO a year ago.
Part of the list of global assets protected by U NESTO is also Butrint, Berat, Gjirokastra, and iso-polphony. / REL/
