Voice of America: The question of concern, this is related, not to the fact that you are surprised by this, but can I ask you about Mr. Veliaj's recent investigation case? Does that violate your Party's image?
Prime Minister Rama: I don't comment on individual cases, I never did, unless there was a final court decision, as was the case with a genocide slanderer. But I can only say that, the fact that anyone is investigative, does not make anyone guilty, and on the other hand, trials are not conducted in the media, but trials are made in legal and constitutional processes.
Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj was questioned the day before by the SPAK, which indicated that he has launched investigations and criminal proceedings for four criminal acts that are also active corruption and passive of senior officials, money laundering and the hiding of property.
The description of the investigative actions on the part of the SPAK comes a few hours after the mayor at the municipal Council meeting said he was denounced by an anonymous citizen named Nesti Angoni, who added that Veliaj is a character that does not exist.
The SPAK explains that information on reference to criminal acts has been triggered by the incriminating of this self-identified citizen, but BiH investigators after verifying data and managing documentary evidence have referred to data on the basis of which the above criminal proceedings have been recorded.
