Addressing Western scepticism about Oresnik, the Russian president suggested that both sides choose a target assigned to protect themselves from American missiles.
“We are ready for such an experiment”, Putin was quoted as saying.
Russia fired an Oressnik missile in Ukraine's town of Dnipro on November 21st, in response to the first use of American ballistic missiles Atacms from Ukraine and British Storm Shadows to hit Russian territory with West permission. US and Great Britain sources showed at the time that they believed this was a nuclear-powered experimental missile with mid-ray action (IRBM), which has a theoretical range of action below 3,420 miles (5,500 km). That's enough to get to Europe from where it was launched in southwestern Russia, but not in the US. /Express/
