The prosecution intends to call three witnesses in Thaci, Smaj, Kuci and others

Prosecutor Joshua Hafetz said they aim to call three witnesses in the judicial process against Hashim Thaci, the Smajt Union, Isni Kilajt, Fadil Fazliu and Hajredin Kuci.

It is true that we intend to call three witnesses at least, including what is mentioned by name, or on which is the supporting documentation of the indictment”, said prosecutor Hafetz, reports the “Justice bet“.

Speaking of extracting materials and information concerning the items confiscated by the accused, prosecutor Hafetz said they own Kilayt's phone and Fazliu's.

During their statements, defender Smajt, lawyer Bes Martnes, said they have a document providing information on evidence. However, he says that everything he has to do with his client is edited and released, in particular concerning documents that have been seized during the search in his apartment.

Martines, as an example, pointed out that information about phone records is very limited.

“The protection currently cannot make any investigation and cannot do anything in terms of reserves and defence approaches in such a way that it can continue with its investigations. We are reserve the right to take steps when appropriate”, Martines said.

However, Michigan Pestman, who represents Fadil Fazliu, said that he as his lawyer has not seen his client's phone at all, namely in the document offering information about what he had on Fazliu's phone.

However, Judge Marjorie Masselot said that it may be connected to the aspects of technology, because the lawyer should have access to that document.

Lawyer Pestman said he wants to know that the prosecution's witnesses who they're charged with get involved with and that if they want to talk about his client.

Lawyer Alexander Admiral representing Hajredin Kuchin did not have any statements. While Isni Kilayt's father, Iain Edwards, said there is only one point to lift. He said that in his opinion, the prosecution has no right to say it is premature for lawyers to get involved in discussions concerning information found on the accused's phones.

Pestman stressed that the information on his client's phone should not be presented to other parties.

On the other hand, prosecutor Joshua Hafetz said they would be involved in discussions with parties concerning information found on the phone seized by their clients.

He said defence requirements for involvement in discussions are premature. However, he stressed that they would not extract material from the phones of accused who conflicts with the rules but only the information related to the issue.

According to Masselot, Thaci and Kilajt's defence have said that they are still not in position to provide insights currently regarding investigations to carry out the defence, considering that no material has been taken in this regard.

Similarly, Martès representing Smakajn said they are waiting for materials and then they will see what their position is.

Pestman representing Fadil Fazliu said it is premature to answer that question. The statements were also joined by the carrying of Kily and Kuchi.
