Montenegro's president has said his country will not change its position in relation to Kosovo. That statement, James Milatovic, made during an interview for “Euronews”.
“An economist and former minister of economic development, Milatovic has balanced his ambitions for Europe with the desire for closer relations with Serbia. That despite the fact that he disagrees with his former state partner on key issues, above all for the recognition of Kosovo.
While Serbia has not yet recognised Kosovo and shows none of the change of mind, Montenegro has recognised it and Milatovic does not want to change it”, Euronews writes, referring to the Milatovici interview.
This interview will be broadcast next Thursday (December 12th).
Similarly, the Montenegrin president has talked about his and his country's ambitions for EU membership, believing it is possible to achieve until 2028. He admits that there are still challenges on this road, stressing that “unless there are challenges, we would just be part of the EU”
