KFOR commander in Kosovo, Major General Enrico Bardonini, said the latest attack on the Iber-Lepenc channel, near Zubin Potok, testifies to the sensitivity of the security situation, which is sensitive to possible abuses.
He said that co-operation with Kosovo institutions, including Kosovo security bodies, is very good.
KFOR commander, speaking of the case of the terrorist attack on the Iber-Lepenci channel, said that in this case there has been no need to dislodge the Kosovo Security Force, because Kosovo police, with the support of EULEX and KFOR, have been absolutely able to manage that situation.
He added that special procedures exist for KSF dislocation.
Equally talking about security, the situation is calm, but still fragile, mainly due to unresolved political issues, while adding that the real risk of escalation of tensions, including interethnic relations, according to him, is linked to domestic dezination and across the region.
Meanwhile, regarding the opening of the bridge over the Iber River, General Bardonini indicated that KFOR's position on the Ibër Bridge has been clear and consistent.
Any decision in this direction should be made through dialogue and in timely and effective co-ordination with the international community.”, RTK reports.
KFOR commander said co-operation with Kosovo institutions, including Kosovo security bodies, is very good.
Major General Bardonini, among other things, reaffirmed that KFOR strongly condemns the recent attack on the Iber-Lepenc water pipeline in Zubin Potok.
