State Chief Prosecutor Blerim Isufaj has said he does not know if anyone has ever been interviewed in the prime minister's office, as current Prime Minister Albin Kurti has asked to give his testimony, requested by the Special Prosecutor.
I don't have information if anyone's ever been interviewed in the Prime Minister's Office, maybe there might be but I don't know. At least as long as I've been the chief prosecutor of this prosecution we've had”, Isufaj said during a news conference called this Monday.
He has asked the Government to show commitment to rule of law and avoid rhetoric aimed at politicising justice.
“Law is the same for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, including top state officials. The invitation to give testimony is regular procedure, and every person invited has the legal responsibility to co-operate with justice institutions, so I call on all institutions, including the Government of Kosovo to show devotion to rule of law and avoid rhetoric aimed at politicising justice. I'm not here to comment on anyone's statements that I don't care at all, I'm saying what I know and that I think it should be”, Isufaj said.
