Kosovo police, in the continuation of their commitments according to legal authorisations, aimed at achieving results as professionally in identifying and treating criminal acts and other negative phenomena, have developed the operational plan “Days of joint action “J AD SEE 2024”, which has originated as EMPACT planning and activity, in which many other states besides Kosovo have participated: Albania, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Spain, France, as well as representatives from EUROOPOL, FRONTEEX and INTERPOL.
Based on the prepared plan, Kosovo Police, the Directorate for Human Trafficking Investigation, respectively, DHTTJ has taken action as they are:
Road operations, squares and shopping malls to identify children in the street situation as potential victims of trafficking,
Joint operations with MINT inspectors, ATK and labour inspectors in inspection/control of locals, tactical plan related to escorts.
Other support units of the Kosovo Police have been engaged in the operational plan, as well as the entire plan has been realised in co-operation with inspectors from MINT, ATK inspectors, inspectors from the Central Labour Inspectorate and municipal inspectors, and this co-operation has resulted in ongoing activities:
Inspection/control of 125 different types of establishments on the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
Initiating seven cases of criminal acts of wrongdoing or abandoning a child, where seven suspected women have been arrested, as well as identified as seven child seekers.
Also initiated are 10 cases of prostitution fraud identified as ESKORTA, where 21 suspects have been arrested.
A total of 73 documents from foreign persons who were referred to in the DMH for verification and treatment under foreign law have been seized, where 1 person during the verification has resulted in active arrest warrants and has been handed over to the appropriate station for further procedures.
