A video with a simple act of kindness has now become a major international story.
On December 10th, the 7th On Your Side team was attending a local charity, delivering backpacks to homeless people.
Our journalist Nina Pineda stopped talking to a woman, a needy stranger, in Penn Station, New York after she received one of the presents.
The woman was overjoyed with the spirit of the festival of such a simple gift, a backpack with supplies, and a handwritten note for children by word of encouragement from a group called the correct “Only Love and Blessings”.
What happened next is being called a miracle. That woman Nina spoke to was a singer. It turns out she's so famous that people in her country immediately recognized her from the segment.
Her name is Parashire Simaku. Simaku is a singer and actress from Albania, and is one of their national treasures. It was like Albania's Madona”, said fan Bale Erbeli.
Erbel was cooking when she saw the clip and immediately met Simak, who had stayed with her family in New Jersey in 1986 when she began her career.
As a result, the Albanian-American community quickly joined, posting and distributing clips across all social networks. It has even reached one of their greatest influences, Elton Iliryan.
