In an X post, the Ukrainian president voiced confidence that under the leadership of this European Commission, Ukraine will be in the EU. According to him, this is a strategic goal of the country.
My sincere “Pasions for Von der Leyeen for the adoption of the new commissioners' college. We are sure that under the leadership of this European Commission, Ukraine will achieve its ultimate strategic goal: EU membership”.
Zelensky hopes the new commission “will be able to strengthen a united Europe and boost the EU's role as a global leader”.
“We look forward to continuing our productive co-operation on key issues of the Ukrainian strategic agenda- EU”, the Ukrainian president further stressed.
The European Parliament voted today for the new composition of the European Commission, proposed by the current and elected president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen and adopted by the EU Council in September. But there were 370 deputies, against 282 and 36 abstentions.
