The European Union has reacted to the attack on the water channel at Iber-Lepenc in Zubin Potok in northern Kosovo, calling it a terrorist attack and a sabotage, and said it condemns it in the harshest terms.
“It is a disgusting act of sabotage in Kosovo's critical civilian infrastructure, which provides drinking water for a considerable part of Kosovo's population and is a vital component of the Kosovo energy system”.
In a communiqué on the official page, the EU said it has offered support to Kosovo authorities and continues to co-ordinate future steps with the respective partners, including KFOR.
The EU has also said their mission for rule of law is offering assistance to Kosovo authorities in line with its mandate.
EU High Representative Josep Borrell has said the message solidarity has conveyed to Prime Minister Albin Kurti this afternoon.
“We stand in solidarity with all those throughout Kosovo who are affected by the attack. These messages of solidarity and support have been conveyed directly to Prime Minister Albin Kurti this afternoon”.
The European bloc said the authors should be investigated and held accountable.
The criminal action committed in Zubin Potok should be investigated and the authors brought to justice. In this respect, the EU calls on all interested parties to co-operate fully with Kosovo authorities and will continue to follow closely on developments”.
