Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has condemned the explosion that occurred last night in the village of Varrag in Zubin Potok municipality in northern Kosovo.
Through a reaction on the “X” platform, Rama calls the explosion an act of sabotage on critical infrastructure that violates the lives of Kosovo citizens. It further calls for the event to dawn and be punished, while there is an appeal for the European Union to lift the remaining sanctions on Kosovo.
The act of sabotage on the critical water supply infrastructure in the Iber Lepenci Canal is a serious crime, which affects the lives of Kosovo's citizens and hits the process of normalising relations in our region, where all states are involved on the path to integration into the European Union. This criminal crackdown should be made white and punished with the support of international partners.
The European Union, meanwhile, must immediately lift the remaining sanctions on Kosovo and re-age in a new form of dialogue for normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia. The existing format has failed to produce the desired results, and it is time for the dialogue issues to go through the bilateral EU relations with Kosovo or Serbia, as well as two equally independent states of one another, where the European fate of each state can depend on the desires of the other state; just like the European fate of the entire region can depend on the non-recognition of Kosovo by Serbia or 5 EU member states”, Edi Rama writes on social networks.
