A Officer and Customsman Arrested in Han, Elez

They allegedly received money from truck drivers to facilitate the crossings at this customs point.

Customs in co-operation with IPK arrested a customs official and police officer suspected of accepting bribes

Last night Task Joint Customs Force The police in the process of measures to prevent and fight lawlessness and smuggling have identified a corruption case where the suspects were a customs official and a police official.
Shortly after allegedly that officials in co-ordination received illegal payments were announced Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) and the relevant Customs units, which in co-ordination realised the arrest of a customs official and a police official for involvement in illegal activities.
The two officials were detained under suspicion that they had co-operated in taking money from truck leaders to facilitate the crossings at Elez's Han Border Point. The two detainees will face legal procedures in line with the Penal Code provisions of the Republic of Kosovo and the same with the prosecutor's decision has been imposed on the detention measure for 48 hours.
The action is the result of the institutions' continued commitment to combat corruption and protect the integrity of Kosovo's customs and police system.
Task Customs Force -The police remain determined to root out any form of illegal behavior and ensure the protection of the interests of citizens and the economy of the country. Kosovo and IPK customs encourage citizens to report any illegal acts through dedicated reporting mechanisms to further increase transparency and security in our services.
