Lama's supper in Luqa of Decani, Haradinaj: Our Sign That Unites Us

On the eve of November 28th, the National Flag Festival, the birthday of the legendary commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), Adem Jashar and the public appearance of the KLA, has been organised the traditional Lama Dinner event in the Top Luqa of Decani.

In this historic village of the convents for the reconciliation of the creatures of “Luqa” at the oda of the national rapsod Dervis Shaqa, many participants have become together to mark the festival known as the “Larka drex3> marked with traditional food, songs with traditional motives, different games and white plurals.

Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Chairman Ramush Haradinaj recalled the time when Lama Dinner was organised as a child. He showed what he had talked to former President Ibrahim Rugova about this activity, which he said is a good event that unites people.

The “recalled the 56 years when I was raised as a child in Glodjan, at school I came to Decan, in high school at a time, but even during the hard fight I broke this area. Just as you, my age, were raised, I too have arrived at the Lama Evening Meal. We talked about the beets, but it was dairy, it was also putting the tanaris out, they line up to see, they put in the peppers all of them, onions, and what they had. After the war, I had a conversation with President Rugova when we talked about our signs, said Lama's dinner was a sign of ours, which had begun to be organised at the country level. I think this is a good sign, an event that unites us. I found you all along, with all the beers and all the best”, he wished Haradinaj.

Decani's chairman, Bashkim Ramosaj, praised the village of Lu Luka for organising this traditional event.

The “Juve increased your honour for the invitation, well done for the organisation. To eat the dinner of Lama, with the berry, health of all good for you and your family. I'm proud to be from this city, but at the same time I'm proud that we cooperate and have incontinuous reconciliation. Well done for the idea of making it traditional (Laam brand)”, Ramosaj said.

AAK MP Time Kadrijaj praised the Lama Evening Meal as a good tradition of the Albanian people.

Thank you all for the good initiative you took. To enter an odda of men, and all of them in white robes, which is a good tradition of Albanians and to continue such a tradition as the Lama Dinner has been. In the past, all family members, every Albanian home, have celebrated that Beret has been collected and the Lama Evening Meal has been set up. I hope that such arrangements will continue gathering the village to a traditional” party, Kadrijaj said.

Even the MP's candidate in the upcoming AAK elections, Arton Demhaje, praised the idea that Lama Dinner will become an Albanian tradition.

This little age today, but with big history. Just take a look around this place and you see the story. I personally feel highly honored that I have been given the opportunity to come to the age of the most popular Albanian rapsod Dervis Shaqa. Indeed, Luca is a small village but has great history. This oode has drawn rapsods like Dervis Shaqa of Demush Neziri and at the same time in Luqa has been held the largest Albanian rally. Never in the history of Albanians has there been a larger gathering than the one in the Luqa Holes, where the reconciliation of women has been made. I congratulate you on the good idea that Lama's dinner will turn into Albanian tradition as it has been, and I am happy that I have never seen more dust in my life than I see today”, Demhaja said.

The chairman of the Islamic Community Council in Decani, Naser Tolaj, said honoured for participating in the organisation.

I feel very honored that among these men and especially among the most successful commanders such as General Ramush Haradinaj, but also close to our mayor, who is not why he is here, but I really want to thank him for his work and engagement... I feel honored to be in a village like Luka. It's a small village in terms of the number of residents, but it's given very large people... Luka's values are distinguished and cited, they're part of the story because of the contribution to reconciliation. With patience be the dinner (Laams)”, Tolaj said.

The meal was extended by former President Ibrahim Rugova in 2002, where it was intended to mark the end of the summer season and early autumn. While traditional food was laid in the Sophrat, where guests were heads of institutions from the country and international ones.
