Hoxhaj: Kosovo gets out of foreign policy track from Kurti, Osmani

According to him, the government has given up the final agreement with mutual recognition.

Whatever President Osmani says beyond respect for his position and Prime Minister Kurti, these two belong to history. There will be elections in Kosovo on February 9th, and there must be a new parliamentary majority, political change must occur. Political change will be PDK victory and parties leading Government in the future. Of course, on topics and on Kosovo dialogue issues- Serbia, I have been in the position of foreign minister, and I say today that there is a need for political consensus. We can figure out how to get to dialogue. But it does not take much seriously the statements the president can make today, since their deadline has expired, and on February 9th there will be a new Government that will lead this country. It will turn Kosovo back on track and see how the issue of mutual recognition of the binding legal agreement -- to complete Kosovo's construction state to have the main attention after February 9th 2025”, Hoxhaj said.

Former Minister Hoxhaj said the government cannot avoid the obligations of the agreement that has been reached in Brussels and its annex in Ohrid.

What we should consider is that Prime Minister Kurti has said yes to the Brussels agreement, has said yes to the Ohrid annex and has also told the European proposal to form the Association of Serb majority municipalities. Therefore, even any statements made have been lost by the American ambassador to Belgrade, which are lost by EU representatives in Brussels or elsewhere in the West, should be known to the citizens of Kosovo and public opinion that these are obligations that Mr. Kurti has taken and not be given the impression that we are being wronged, when Prime Minister Kurti was the one who, with the draft Asociation status that is a territorial autonomy and almost a conditioning arrangement of Kosovo. He has done a huge damage to Kosovo with Brussels agreements that repels mutual recognition and the binding legal agreement has done the second huge damage to Kosovo, so even when he takes over others demand that these obligations should be implemented, Hoxhaj said.

Commenting on Prime Minister Kurti's refusal to establish association on the European draft Association status proposal, deputy PDK, Enver Hoxhaj, said Kurti has said yes to the European proposal in November 2023.

“at the moment that Prime Minister Kurti has said yes to the Brussels agreement he has said yes to the Ohrid annex in March 2023, he has said yes in November of 2023 draft draft association that is the EU proposal, and all of these are located in the progress report and in Kosovo's mechanism for EU membership, are inevitable obligations. But what we will have to see is how the future Government to build a method and methodology so that Kosovo's mutual recognition is the focus of dialogue and that our international partners' demand to establish association goes in parallel with meeting Kosovo's demand to recognise Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state. In other words, for us as opposition and as the PDK there is no association without Serbia knowing the Republic of Kosovo and establishing diplomatic relations with Kosovo”, Hoxhaj told Rtv21.
