He has even reached 60% of the votes in the municipality of 11,000.
This victory marks an important precedent in German history: an Albanian from #Mitrovica elected mayor for the first time. Arianini, who was only one year old when his family moved from Kosovo as a result of the Serbian depression, has achieved a success that inspires all Albanians.
Years of involvement in German politics, Arianini has been active within the SPD and recently serving as a scientific collaborator to MP Lars Castelucci, chairman of the German Bundestag's Home Policy Commission.
His victory is not merely a personal achievement, but a powerful message for the Albanian diaspora and future generations: success and commitment do not recognise national boundaries. Albanians, wherever they are located, can contribute vigorously to any level of society.
Congratulations, Aryan. A success story that makes us all proud”, writes Kosovo's ambassador to Germany, Faruk Ajjeti, in the post.
