German traffic expert Andreas Knie has made a proposal that may not be popular with men.
He has said that men (men) should take the driver's license only from 26 years of age, instead of 18 years old, as was legalised so far.
This expert's proposal comes because of youth participation in illegal speed races, which have not rarely resulted with fatality for many.
Knie, who comes from the Berlin Social Research Centre, also known as WZB, says that if there is no reduction in youth participation in these dangerous races, this move should be discussed.
The expert's statement has sparked a major debate in the German state, media report there.
