The Kosovo Energy Corporation has reacted after the explosion in the main Iber-Lepenci channel.
From this corporation, they have said that the operation of thermal power plants is continuing normally, and management of electricity supply is stable and stable, despite last night's attack on the Iber Lepenci channel.
KEC has said it is continuing to operate with two TC Kosova B units and two TC Kosova A units, which are not affected by the water shortage of the channel.
Also, in case of need, KEK has secured capacity of 150 MW from KESH, which will be used to support sustainable electricity supply. ”
Kosovo's “Energy Corps, in close co-operation with the Ministry of Economy, is continuing commitments to normalise the situation, including other relevant institutions. All parties are engaged in close co-ordination and are working over and over again to minimize impacts and provide sustainable water supply for T C Kosova B and electricity for citizens and other important sectors. ” reportedly in KEK's announcement to the media.
KEK has also shown the actions taken following last night's attack on the Iber Lepenci water channel:
- KEK, the Ministry of Economy (ME), and the Policy and Monitoring Unit of Public Enterprises (NJPMNP) have been met to analyse the water supply situation for thermal operation and to ensure the safety of the power supply.
- Emergency Management Agency (AME), KRU Pristina (in co-ordination with all the CRUs), has been mobilised with equipment such as Autobots (water tankers) to ensure the supply of water power plant in case of need and to ensure the necessary water reserves.
- Close co-ordination with Iber Lepenci officials is continuing to conduct sanctions and repairs.
- CRU Pristina has announced that the capacities destined by this channel for Mitrovica and Pristina can be provided by other sources, ensuring that the capacity of Iber Lepenci will only be exploited by KEK.
- Iber Lepenci has put in six tubes (with a 900mm diameter) that can supply the amount needed for normal functioning of both TC units Kosova B.
