Biden: Israel and Lebanon accept ceasefire agreement

Israel and Lebanon have accepted a ceasefire agreement to end their fighting with Hezbollah, according to US President Joe Biden. The deal will take effect by 4 o'clock tomorrow at local time, he adds.

Beden now says: “To be clear, Israel did not start this war, nor did the Lebanese seek that war, nor did the United States”.

He adds that he has directed assets to flow into the region, “to protect Israel and prevent our common enemy at a critical moment”.

Since the start of the war, more than 70,000 Israelis have been forced to live as refugees, Biden says, while seeing their subx0> communities destroyed”.
