He explained that according to the law, the CEC retains the voter's list and ensures that the same is based on accurate, up-to-date and most recent data of the Central Civil Register, which systematically removes dead persons and persons who have renounced citizenship.
If we talk only about the number of dead persons who have left the Vote List after 2021 local elections, then this number is 39 thousand and 665 voters. This data is part of the Presidential Voters List report presented in the CEC. Certificate of the Voters' List is scheduled to take place at the beginning of 2025, and then we will have the number of voters removed as dead from the voter list since local elections 2021. Also, with the Certificate of the voter list, we will have the exact number of voters inside and outside Kosovo”, Elezi has said of EO.
According to Elez, with the aim of cleaning up the voting list, period is under way for the rejection of the Voters' Parliamentary List. “Under preparations for organising the Kosovo Elections for the March 9th 2025 Assembly is continuing periods for the rejection of inaccuracies on the Parliamentary Voters List. This period began 29 August and will end on December 28, 2024. So by this time, voters may object to the preliminary List of Voters even for any name of any voter they claim should not be found on this list, including when the name of any dead person” appears.
Elez announces that this period serves to improve the Vote List in other ways as well.
“Also, any person who is eligible to vote not found on the Vote List has been wrongly assigned to the next poll, or has other incorrect data, could request from the CEC her revision via electronic system or by appearing at the Municipal Election Commission in the respective municipality of”, he announced.
According to the CEC, each voter can control its records, including its own polling centre, on the electronic platform: http://qv.kqz-x.org, meanwhile to challenge the inaccuracies on the Voterary List, the voter must be identified with one of the three documents: Valid ID; valid passport and permission of valid driving.
