Republika Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti welcomed for the fourth time in as many years, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen.
The central topics of this conversation, which took place only a few days after the adoption of the European Commission of the Kosovo Reforms, under the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, were the implementation and benefits for Kosovo and its citizens from this agenda of reforms, bilateral relations between Kosovo and the European Union, regional co-operation and the integration process of Kosovo into the European family.
Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude to President von der Leyen for her dedication to Kosovo and the Western Balkans, which is attested to by frequent visits and meetings during her leadership and the vocable vote for full integration of the region into the European Union.
“Congratulations on your new mandate. We count a lot on your leadership, both in the expansion of the European Union and in its empowerment on the” world scene, Prime Minister Kurti said at the start of the meeting.
Speaking of the Kosovo Reforms Agency, the prime minister stressed that it has five priority areas, envisions 30 reforms and 111 steps to address key issues of our economy, including energy security, employment, attracting foreign investments and formalising work and the economy. He said that we are willing and dedicated to implementing reforms as soon as possible and to benefit as much of the available financial support amounting to 882m euros.
At this meeting, the prime minister reiterated the importance of full and immediate departure of the measures against Kosovo and receiving the European Union's candidate status as a credit reflected in Kosovo's steadfast commitment to European integration and reform, and economic development and democratic progress that has marked in recent years.
