Witnessing continued, Nuredin Ibishi in Thaci case and others

In Kosovo's specialised chamber (DHSK) in The Hague, a witness of the 97th Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS), Nuredin Ibishi, known as commander “Leka”, which holds the code 04758 in the judicial process against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi.

A document was presented to the Witness who, according to prosecutor Sylvia Déscoli, was obtained from Kosovo's justice institutions, which is an organogram showing the formation of brigades within the KLA, reports the “Justice Trust“.

The witness said there is knowledge of the contents of this document and that it represents the structure of organizing the KLA brigades, namely what they have applied in the Lapi Operative Zone.

He said he is not sure when he received such an organogram during the war, but he thinks it might be after August 1998.

Ibishi claims that the organogram he had during the war bore the same stamp of Staff as he already has the document presented in court.

Later, the witness was introduced to another organogram, which he said is the formation of a command of an KLA operational zone.

Ibishi said that when he got such a document, he can't remember the time and who he got it from.

The Witness said that these organograms have updated and modified with relevant information and have therefore informed the relevant authorities.

Addressing the relevant authorities, the witness said he was referring to the commander of the deputy commander of the area after, according to him, he made these changes in co-ordination with them.

At Thursday's hearing, all the accused are present at the courtroom. On Wednesday, the hearing ended as private at the prosecutor's request, with the excuse for witness protection.

Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points of charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On April 29th 2022, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had handed over a amended indictment to Hashim Thaci, Kadri Wessel, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi, where four indictees have committed war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semtish.

On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has been declared innocent of the charges placed on them. Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.

The incident against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is confirmed on October 26, 2020.
