(VIDEO) moment of Ilir Meta's arrest

Former Albanian President Ilir Meta was arrested in communications just minutes before arriving at the Freedom Party headquarters, where he had warned a press conference with reporters.

Meta was travelling with his car, when BKH agents, in co-operation with police forces, stopped him near a mall near the Kamza Return in Tirana. The early arrest images were published by Report TV

Meta was arrested at the order of the Special Prosecutor against Corruption (SPAK).

He is expected to arrive at the Tirana Police Department.

Meta has been president, prime minister, foreign minister, while holding other top state positions in Albania.
