Reper was denied parole after being acquitted on three counts of crimes, writes Sky News.
The charges came after the rapper and the music tycoon was arrested at a hotel in New York on Monday, September 16th.
Combs, three-time Grammy Award winner and also one of the most influential hip-hop producers in the past three decades, has faced a wave of lawsuits by women who have accused him of sexual assault.
And now he faces a criminal trial after being denied parole of $50 million.
His arrest has made a big fuss on social networks, among the many users who are talking about this subject.
But what charge exactly does Diddy face?
The charges involve sexual trafficking, possession of drugs, and violations for use by firearms.
In particular, there are three counts described by the Southern District of New York (SDNY) in a legal indictment:
Organised Crime
Sexual Trafficking by Force, Fraud, or Obligation
Transporting People to Prostitution
Organised crime carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment; forced sexual trafficking, fraud or obligation has a maximum sentence of life imprisonment and a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years; and transportation for prostitution purposes is sentenced to a maximum ten-year sentence.
According to the indictment, Combs reportedly “abused, threatened and forced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and hide his behavior” by at least 2008.
It claims that 54-year-olds used their employees, resources and influence in the music industry to create a <x0-convention criminal enterprise, members and collaborators, whose members committed themselves and tried to get involved, among other crimes, in sexual trafficking, forced labour, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice”.
Diddy allegedly has pushed female victims and male sex workers into sex displays rushed by drugs called “Freak Offs”, according to the document.
These shows, Freak Offs, mentioned in the document about 16 times, were described as the “face of the Combs-led sex, during which the same had jerked off and electronically recorded”.
Prosecutors claim the victims have been given substances to control during several-day events to keep “born and under control” and Diddy has subjected them to “physical, emotional and verbal” to force them to act on him.
In the indictment, it is also said that Combs and his victims were so exhausted after sessions, which sometimes lasted for days, that they had to take IV fluids to recover from physical strain and drug use”.
About 1,000 bottles of oil for children and lubricants were seized from repert homes in Miami and Los Angeles when they were raided in March, the indictment added.
In addition to these accusations, it is claimed that the Combs and members of his business “included in acts of violence, threats of violence, threats of financial harm, and verbal abuse of” including kidnapping and arson when witnesses of his alleged abuse threatened his authority or reputation.
What did Combs and his lawyers say?
mbs has been declared innocent of all charges.
Following his arrest, his lawyer Marc Agnifilo said he was “disappointed” with the verdict, and an unfair prosecution has been made by the US Prosecutor's Office”. /Telegraphy/
