Kosovo Police and Kosovo Customs (Task Force-Land unit) have intensified tactical and operational controls in the border area, where three cases of smuggling with goods have been prevented. In all cases police actions have been undertaken in co-operation and co-ordination with the State Prosecutor.
The case I was given on the 09.10,2024 date after obtaining information for smuggling goods from Serbia to Kosovo from the upper entity has been conducted in the home of the suspected person in the village of Rogocicı, the municipality of Kamenica. During the search, it has been encountered in Serbian food products, which are allegedly smuggled from Serbia to Kosovo. In regard to the case under the competent prosecutor's order the goods are seized and sent to the customs-and-white terminal and prosecuted by the Kosovo Customs Unit.
Case II on 09.10.2024 from the Task Force-Land Unit has been banned by a Serbian license license plates led by Serbia's citizen suspect. During the search, it has been observed that there were 14 packs of cigarettes in the car with no document on the origin of the goods, a total of 140,000 million pieces of cigarettes worth about $15,000. At the order of the competent prosecutor, the goods and vehicle are seized and sent to the customs-and-white terminal, while the suspect has been detained for 48 hours.
Case III ) On 09.10.24 after receiving cargo smuggling information from Serbia to Kosovo, a search has been conducted at the home of Kosovo suspect from Kamenica. During the search, it has been encountered in goods as tobacco, cigarettes of different types of Serbian background and without banners, cigarettes and so on, allegedly brought illegally to Kosovo.
In addition to top goods, metal coins have been encountered from a total of $2,640, which are suspected to be forged, where from the Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption -- the Regional Unit in Gjilan, respectively ( NJRHKEK-Gjilan has been launched the case of Money falsification by Article 296 of KPRK. By order of the competent prosecutor in Gjilan, the goods and vehicles are seized and sent to the customs-and-white terminal, while the suspect has been detained for 48 hours.
