Assistant Secretary - General NATO, Boris Ruge, thinks that now is not the situation that can be talked about Kosovo's membership in the Atlantic Alliance, NATO.
He has indicated that Kosovo so far is not moving towards membership in the Partnership for Peace.
Among other things, Ruge stressed that NATO has not given up on support in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, and that they are hopeful that this process will continue.
Ruge has also been declared on the issue of opening the Ibër Bridge, which he said: “We understand that this bridge has been the subject of discussions in dialogue mediated by the European Union, there is an agreement for principles that it should fully open up, so not only for pedestrians but also for vehicles, but we don't want any unilateral action on this”.
Also, Ruge spoke of the Berlin Process, as well as the current CEFTA free trade agreement Kosovo replaces U n NMIK.
I would point out that on Monday week we had the Berlin Process, which was held in Berlin. One of the events was advancing the Free Trade Agreement, now at the CEFTA table, Kosovo sits behind UNMIK. This gives way to an economic zone in the Western Balkans that is extremely important because none of the Western Balkan countries are large enough to exist alone. You need access to markets from different roads. This is the example of how progress can be achieved”, he said in Klan.
He also spoke of the possibility of increasing the number of soldiers in KFOR, number two NATO argued that the number they have on the ground is enough so far.
