The Kosovo government has decided on Monday to increase pensions by 20%.

Following that decision, pensioners' representatives who have said the increase has been disappointing, given high inflation in the country. On the other hand, increased pensions are also required after the increase in public sector wages.

The last time the Kurti Government made the establishment of the cofficient was early this year, when the value of the cofficient rose from 105 euros to 110 euros.

SBASK head: Government to boost co-fficiency for 30%

The chairman of the United Education Union, Nundman Jasharaj, has asked the government to raise the wage cofficiency by 30%.

Jasharaj stated that with current salaries it is hard to live.

He does not express optimism that there will be an increase in the value of the cofficient now and not, as he says, when the election campaign begins.

On September 3rd, we have sent letters to the Government to raise at least 30% the value of the coffient, that with these price hikes it is difficult to keep living. The government did not raise co-fficiency and wages at the time of the campaign, but now. I'm skeptical they'll grow, but if it's gonna be ironic”, Jasharaj said.

Kosovo Public Administration Independent Trade Union Chairman Ali Gashi has declared that the Government is obliged to address the value of the cofficient every year.

Gashi says they refuse to take up the coffient less than 35%.

He said that with the increase in pensions by 20%, there is no expectations that there will be an increase in the value of the cofficient.

The government is obliged every year to treat the value of the cofficient. With this increase in pensions, we are skeptical of great growth. We have proposed that we do not accept less than 35 % of the current value, the less value is the tendency to attach to public officials”, Gashi says.

The chairman of the Oda of Medicines, Plerata Sejdiu, has asked the government to have increased value of the cofficiency the same as inflation and rising prices.

Sejdiu says the annual base should boost the wage cofficiency.

The wage cofficiency must increase parallel to the economic situation, including inflation. The cofficient's growth should be on the annual foundation”, Sejdiu has declared for “Front Online.

The fireman's value should be 150 euros.

That's what he's saying about “Front Online” head of the Fireship Union, Muharrem Beka.

Beka says she does not expect the government to take such a step.

The cofficient value should be 150. I don't believe there'll be an increase in cofficiency as long as there is a need with this rise in prices and inflation is hard to maintain dignified life”, Beka said.

The head of the Firefighters wants another issue to be resolved by the current government for the category.

“Should also consider the issue of additions that firemen are in the wake of a risk and cut off from you”, Beka concluded.

The challenger's increase for 110 euros has been more vulnerable to those who already have higher salaries.

The president of the state, with the cofficiency 18, has been added 90 euros in salary. The Speaker of the Assembly will receive plus 87.5, while the prime minister is 85 euros more. While MPs and ministers increase salaries from 82 euros.

Less growth, with 28 euros, has KSF soldiers. Police and firefighters have been raised to wages of 25 euros. Doctors have benefited plus 60 euros, while nurses from 25.5 to 30 euros.
