It claims that despite meetings at the level of chief negotiators in Brussels, it does not expect concrete results towards implementation of the Brussels Base Agreement and the Ohrid annex reached last year by Kosovo and Serbia. According to her, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, despite international pressure, will not submit the draft association state to the Constitution, when three months remain from the February 9th parliamentary elections.
Ahmetaj in an interview for Kosovo Press speaks of today's visit by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen, American messages to Kosovo, government actions in the north and PDK preparations for the February 2025 elections.
According to her, the government leader will try to postpone the establishment of association until after the elections, so that it will not leave the “hotpatata” in hand and lose votes.
Speaking of US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien the day before in Kosovo, she claims he expressed disappointment with the official Pristina policy.
As for today's visit to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen to Kosovo, Ahmetaj considers that the question of dialogue will remain the key element for our country's integration into the European Union in the future.
On the other hand, the PDK deputy chairman criticises the executive that on behalf of the expansion of sovereignty in the north, it has reduced Kosovo's international sovereignty.
Speaking of the closure of Slovakia's Interconnecting Office in Kosovo, it warns that this will happen even with another diplomatic mission, not wanting to reveal more details.
In addition, Ahmetaj says the PDK intends to win the February 2025 parliamentary elections until it is expressed reserved for possible coalitions.
It criticises the parliamentary majority for leaving the extraordinary sessions, invited by the opposition, which, according to it, shows that current power is unable to face truth and consistency as a result of its four-year wrong policies.
