“Objective against illegal logging”, Serbia's ridiculous reaction to bringing the army to the Kosovo border

The Serbian Defence Ministry has reacted to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's statement that Serbian Army forces have approached about 50m close to the border on Saturday, saying that “security authorities” have interrupted “the illegally cut wooden smuggling”.

Regarding this statement, Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia has reacted, where through a Facebook post, Serbia is trying to fight as an activity to prevent illegal logging.

“In the Serbian Ministry of Defence communiqué concerning the activities of the Serbian Army in the vicinity of 50m from the border line with the territory of Kosovo, a typical military activity, tries to be spent as activities to prevent illegal logging.

Since when has the Serbian Army started performing forest storage duties and, more so, armed soldiers with weapons and tactical equipment, as well as armoured military vehicles? Because according to the Republic of Serbia forest law, specifically in its 40th article, it has been clearly defined that forest guards within the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Waters are the only officials to preserve forests and prevent their illegal logging within Serbia's territory”, Macedonian wrote.

Macedonia, it has indicated, consistently, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia tries to have the added military presence of Serbian soldiers near the territory of the Republic of Kosovo justify it using completely unstable excuses.

“In continuation, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia strives that the added military presence of Serbian soldiers in the vicinity of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, to reason by using completely unstable excuses, as it strives to also exercise with combating aircraft and offensive suicides, such as the “Vihor 2024<62> exercise in Peshterre, to present as military preparation for the territory.

Serbia's continued billion, and especially the deployment of many military capacities south of its territory, is an indication for the continuation of Serbia's hegemonistic and aggressive approach in relation to Kosovo and other neighbours.
