The 31st Hungarian Defence Forces contingent has begun its six-month service in KFOR.
The handover ceremony was held on 28 September at the Novo Selo Camp led by Major General Ozkan Ulutash, the outgoing commander of KFOR.
Among other things, Bella Bozik, Hungary's ambassador to Kosovo, participated in the event.
Lieutenant Colonel David Szent-Imrey, commander of the 30th contingent of the Hungarian KFOR module, handed the leadership of Hungarian sublonel Tibor Dancs.
Major General Ozkan Ulutas thanked Lieutenant Colonel Szent-Imray “for the excellent leadership and service”, while welcoming Lieutenant Colonel Dancs and blessing him with successful service.
Hungarian peacekeepers have been serving in the Western Balkans since 1995 and have been participating in KFOR since 1999. Currently, the Hungarian contribution to KFOR comes from two maneuvering teams, intelligence units and deployed soldiers at headquarters, logistics and supporting tasks.
