At the 227th meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Minister of Finance, Transfers and Labour Iron Murati presented the Budget Law for 2025. In elaborising the provisions of this Law, Minister Murati, among other things, announced that provisions have been introduced that concern delaying the deadline for implementing progressive tax rates on commercial real estate for 2026.
As the Kosovo Communist Association is known, it has lobbied and argued that this tax rate is a burden and a heavy burden added to owners of real commercial property.
The Kosovo municipalities' association welcomes this government decision, praising that our demand has been reasonable and argued with facts that this is unnecessary at this stage.
It is also noteworthy that the majority of municipalities in the Republic of Kosovo have lowered the tax on property to citizens for about 33 %.
