How has the number of employees and the rate of unemployment increased over the years?
Days ago, we witnessed how media close to the opposition attempted to misuse a World Bank report, misrepresenting it and claiming the report was exposing government figures.
But what is the truth about employment and unemployment figures?
According to official AKS statistics:
) By the end of 2023 there were 425 employed.
) For the 3-year period of Kurti Government, 78,427 jobs have been added, according to the report.
) By comparison, only 44,228 jobs have been added during past governments for eight years.
In the years since there has been a choice, in past governments there is a temporary increase in employees, which then takes place the following year and the number of employees decreases again. This testifies to unstable employment during election campaigns when others ruled.
) The only time that even after the election year continues to increase employment is in Kurti Government, despite the fact that in 2021 we had parliamentary and local elections. This proves that employment during our government has been stable, and that the measures we have taken to support the economy have worked.
The rate of unemployment from 25.9% to 2020 has dropped to 10.9% by the end of 2023. This also marks the most violent decline ever recorded.
However, to avoid discussions on the metodolgy of unemployment estimates, the Government has almost always referred to the absolute figure of employees, which is the most accurate indicator to show how much employment has increased.
And this indicator, as can be seen, shows that nearly twice as many jobs have been increased in the government as in all governments together from 2012.
As for the figure cited by the World Bank report, in another post we can also talk about the indicator, but be sure that even when we see the trend over the years, the Kurti Government stands superior to past governments.
