Liam Payne died from multiple traumas, internal and external bleeding after falling off the balcony of the hotel on the third floor in Buenos Aires, the Argentinan prosecutor's office said.
The autopsy showed that the singer's head injuries were enough to cause death.
An investigation, including the interview of five witnesses in an effort to rebuild the 31-year-old musician's last hours, indicated he was only at the time he fell off the balcony. From Payne's hotel room, substances showing the consumption of alcohol and drugs were seized. One direction's former member died on Wednesday. Guests at the Casa Sur Hotel told Guardian they heard crashes and screams for hours before Payne fell.
