Mike Jackson, the senior British military officer in the rank of general, who in 1999 had commanded NATO troops entering Kosovo after 78 days of bombing of Serb targets died Tuesday.

Jackson had become international news on June 12th 1999, when he had rejected the order of Wesley Clark NATO Forces Commander Europe to attack Russian troops who were deployed at Pristina Airport. I'm not going to start the Third World War” Jackson Clarke reportedly said at the time.

The famous British general during his term had negotiated the deilitarisation of the KLAão, from which the Kosovo Defence Corps had emerged.
