The Israeli Army said on October 3rd that it killed a senior Hamas leader, the Palestinian group declared terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union, during an air strike conducted at the Gaza Strip about three months ago.
The attack, according to the Israeli army, was carried out to an underground building north of Gaza, killing Rawhi Mujtaha and two other Hamas commanders, Sameh Siraj and Sameh Oudeh.
Hamas has not yet commented on this announcement made by Israel.
Israel said the three commanders had been sheltered in a fortified underground building north of Gaza, which served as a control and command centre.
In the announcement, Mushha was said to be a close associate of Yahya Sinwar, Hamas' leading leader, who helped plan the October 7th attack on Israel, which sparked the war in Gaza.
Sinwar is believed to be alive hiding inside Gaza.
On October 7th, Hamas ' radicals killed nearly 1,200 people and kidnapped another 250 during their attack on northern Israel, reports the REL.
Israel retaliated with an offensive in Gaza. So far, as a result of the war in Gaza, more than 41,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. The ministry has said that over half of the victims were women and children.
