Albania's former president, Ilir Meta, has appeared in the Special Court against Corruption and Organised Crime to recognise the security measure.
The hearing was scheduled to be held in the morning, but it was postponed after lunch after lawyers took time to get acquainted with the evidence.
Police have made sure that Ilir Meta is placed in a “mosque” in court, as seen in published images.
MP Monica Grande, former wife of Meta, also appeared there.
In the morning's presentation, Meta was reported that Meta in the courtroom said harsh words to the head of the Special Structure against Corruption and Organised Crime, Altin Duman and other prosecutors.
The country's former president and chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, was arrested Monday at noon at the order of the SPACE.
He is accused of corruption, money laundering, and hiding property.
