Hovenier wrote today that they have had important conversations with Kosovo leaders about partnership with the US, as well as advancing Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic road.
“Thank Assistant Secretary O'Brien for his visit to Kosovo. We had important conversations with Government leaders for partnership with us to increase peace and prosperity, to ensure that all Kosovo citizens live in dignified and secure conditions and to advance Kosovo on the Euro-Atlantic road as a modern and European state”, Havener has said.
O'Brien has also talked yesterday about disagreements with the Government of Kosovo, which she said should hold more discussions before making a decision, and that for this reason, differences between Kosovo and the United States arise.
Meanwhile, the prime minister's office in the communiqué for the meeting between Kurt and O'Brien said it was “discussed bilateral relations and areas in which close reports between our two countries could further deepen.
“Prime Minister Kurti expressed his and the Government's gratitude for the historic role and continued support of the United States of America to the Republic of Kosovo and its people, and for the close co-operation in the field of energy, economy, finance and security of defence”, it was said yesterday.
