Headline for “Family List”: Politics has left nothing unscathed and misused

KDI Director Ismet Kryeziu has reacted after the two Eman MEPs of Visar Kornica, along with several others, declared the “Family List”, with which we would ask for the vote in the election.

According to Kryeziu, politicians have harmed each of them so far. In that light, the sequence of mishandling of these concepts is already added to “The family list”.

Political groups like this one, using the family as an election platform, do nothing more than try to manipulate voters, relying on an emotional and traditional concept like the family. The appointment of an election list such as <x0List for Family” is a clear example of family politicisation and misuse and religion, just to win several votes, pass the threshold and elect MPs. When these politicians use their family and religious faith as tools to mobilise the electorate, instrumentalizing sensitive and personal issues, they are by no means sincere in protecting civic values or rights, they are simply aiming for personal benefits and power.

Moreover, the fact that in this political grouping we have politicians who are caught on electoral lists, coalitions and parties every time we have elections, just to enter parliament, indicates they will bring nothing new. They are simply trying to exploit the concept of family, claiming that certain rights or developments in our new democratic state are affecting the traditional “values of the family. ”

This form of making politics distorts public discurs and creates polarisation in society, turning attention away from real problems such as corruption, lack of integrity in politics, economic development, prosperity, and others, to promote a cause of peace of “protection of family values. ”
