Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said this figure represents a near 9 per cent increase compared to the previous year's budget.
However, that approval has sparked strong reactions from Kosovo Women's Rejet ( RGK, which has been deeply concerned about the lack of public consultations, as required by the government's No.17/2024 regulation.
Kosovo Women's Framework ( S. The GK) is deeply concerned with adopting the Law on Business Divisions for the Budget of the Republic of Kosovo 2025 on the part of the Government yesterday, since a public consultation has not been held, as required by the (QRK) regulation. No. 17/2024 Government Work of the Republic of Kosovo” is said to be reporting.
On October 15th, RGK sent an open letter to the Finance Minister, Mr. Iron Murati, demanding that the bill undergo a public consultation process.
RGK stresses that public consultations are essential for transparency and to ensure that the bill reflects the needs of all citizens, including women, men, girls and boys. Lack of transparency prevents citizens and experts from analyzing the budget impact and limits information on the reasons for the use of financial resources stemming from their taxes.
The RGK calls for a stronger commitment by the government to transparency and participation of citizens in future decision-making processes.
